How To Achieve the No Makeup - Makeup Look
The best advice for achieving a natural, no make-up make up look is work on your BASE. Decent, good quality base products are essential to ensure your make up will last you all day as well as remaining like skin.
Work on your base and your colour correction skills.
You need to use products that give the illusion of clear, dewy and radiant skin. A good moisturising, long lasting primer is key.
The next essential step is having perfected your colour correction skills. You need to ensure any dark circles under the eye are disguised. The best way to hide dark circles under your eyes is first apply a pink concealer from the inner corner, under the eye and around staying close to the lash line. Then buff out and pat with a small, stiff brush or your fingers. The pink tones neutralise any blue tones that exist already.
Once that is blended out apply a yellow based concealer and do exactly the same steps over the top of the pink. This step neutralises the pink and brings the colour closer to your natural skin tone. Then just apply a regular concealer that’s in your shade to match the under eyes back to your skin.
Next, blemishes. ..
These need to be covered too. The best way I have found the cover blemishes is by using a concealer that is one shade darker than your skin and dabbing it right on the blemish with a separate applicator, like a clean finger, and dabbed out around the perimeter. This takes away from the raise of the blemish making it appear flat.
My next bit of advice is Brows. They need to be tidy. Depending on how full your brows already are, I use either a clear brow gel or one with a tint and brush through the brows brushing them slightly up.
Powder isn’t always essential. Too much can make the skin look fake or cakey.
However, if you have a naturally oily skin it is a step that I would recommend ensuring lasting make up. A translucent loose powder is most effective at absorbing excess oils and is easy to top up throughout the day.
A good mascara is also essential. You need a mascara with lengthening properties, not one that clumps the lashes together. Whether it’s waterproof or not is completely up to you and your lifestyle.
A hydrating mist or setting mist applied throughout the day can keep your make up looking fresh.
Use an eyelash comb afterwards to separate them. I always curl the lashes as well before mascara application but it’s completely up to you whether you feel confident in using an eyelash curler as they can be quite intimidating.
My best advice is to look down while using them and do not clamp them too hard together. Lastly you need good lips to complete the look. I use a lip liner the same colour as the lips and slightly over line them if necessary, if not just line the edge to define them. Then add either a lip balm or lip gloss to keep the lips hydrated and looking luscious. An optional step is adding a hydrating mist or a setting mist, you can keep adding this throughout the day to keep your make up looking fresh.
Change your look from day to night by adding a crisp red lip.
If you’re wanting to change your look up from day to night and make it super glam and fun. My advice adding a crisp red lip, everyone needs the right lipstick for their skin tones. A strong red lip creates instant added elegance and glamour.
Get Your Iridescent Glow On
Another technique you can use to change up the no make-up, make-up is adding an iridescent highlighter to the high points of your face, cheek bones, brow bones, inner corner and cupids bow.
This will add a different dimension to your everyday make up look and make you stand out a little bit. It’s a really nice change to do, say for example, if you’re in a rush to get somewhere and already have your everyday make up on. It will just freshen up your face and it will give you an out-of-this-world iridescent shine.
